Mary C. Heddleson, 84 of Dennis Lane, St. Clairsville died Friday, August 8, 2003 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry.

She was born at Glencoe, Ohio December 30, 1918 a daughter of the late Charles J. and Ethel Mayhugh Vannest.

Mary was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel?s Martins Ferry Plant, a member of Weyer Chapter #515 Order of Eastern Star at Centerville, Wardah Hussam Temple #53 Daughters of the Nile at Wheeling and the Big Band 200 Club.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles E. Vannest.

Surviving are her husband of 53 years, William Heddleson; a brother, Russell Vannest and his wife Esther of St. Clairsville and a sister, Janet Bishop and her husband Earl of Glencoe, several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville where services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Wayne Ickes officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.

Eastern Star services will be held Sunday at 7:00 p.m.
