Mary Jane Gummere, 90, of Bannock, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 5, 2020.

She was born in Maynard, Ohio on September 29, 1929, the daughter of the late George and Gladys Bethel.

She was a long-time employee of Bobbie Brooks. Mary Jane was a wonderful mother and grandmother .

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Gummere; her daughter, Linda Jane; a granddaughter Baby Gummere; and three brothers, Richard, William and Robert Bethel.

Surviving are her three children, Wm. Roy Jr. (Connie) of Bannock, Richard (Patty) of St. Clairsville and Robert Jay (Kathy) of Flushing; six grandchildren, Scott (Shelley) of Bethesda, Wm. Greg (Leigh) of Colstrip, MT, Amy Gummere of St. Clairsville, Kevin (Brook) of Bennett, CO, Becky (Bryan) Pope of Bloomville, OH and Justin Gummere of Flushing; seven great grandchildren, Brittany (Zach) Pastva and Tyler Gummere of Bethesda, Emily Gummere of Galloway, Kyle Gummere of Lansing, Brynn, Addysen and Elyse Pope of Bloomville.

Mary Jane was a long-time member of Bannock United Methodist Church.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, social distancing and facial coverings will be required during visitation at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday from 5 – 8 p.m.

Private services will be held on Thursday at the convenience of the family with Pastor Al Hoder officiaiting. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
