Kuhn, Martin L., Sr., 78 of Bannock, Ohio passed away peacefully Tuesday at his home and now rests in the arms of his Savior.
He was born at Wheeling, WV on August 27, 1930 a son of the late Emmo Paul Kuhn and Helen Catherine Coulter Kuhn.
Martin was a retired Chief Petty Officer with the U.S. Navy having served 20 years during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and a former employee of the Times Leader in Martins Ferry. He was a member of the Bannock United Methodist Church where he served as a lay minister.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Varner Kuhn; sons Mark and Bob Kuhn; stepsons Bidgely and Nelson Hercules; an infant grandson, Jacob Kuhn; a sister Virginia and brothers Edward, Kit and Nelson.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Margaret Piper Kuhn; daughters Helen Kuhn and her son Matthew of Bannock, Deborah (Earl) Gossett of Barnesville and Carol (Brian) White of Bannock; sons, Martin L. Kuhn, Jr. of Bannock, Paul (Debbie) Kuhn of Warner Robins, GA, John (Marci) Kuhn of Sheboygan, WI, Melvin (Robyn) Tobiczyk of Shadyside and John K. (Tasha) Tobiczyk of Bannock; daughters-in-law Gladys Kuhn of St. Clairsville and Cheryl Hayes of VA; sisters Phyllis and Dorothy and brothers Paul and Lin; 28 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville on Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. with Pastor Dean Lancaster officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor?s choice.
Military honors will be conducted by the Belmont County Council of American Legions at 1:45 p.m. Saturday.
