Martin Glenn Rutan, 82 of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Thursday, August 27, 2015 at his home.
He was born March 31, 1933 in McMechen, WV, a son of the late Glenn and Esther Hawkins Rutan.
He was a retired welder from Consol Coal Company, and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a graduate of Moundsville High School, member of UMWA, Flushing Lodge # 298 F&AM, a lifetime member of the Tri-State Gas Engine Association, Marshall County Antique Engine Club, and Stumptown Steam Threshers.
Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years and high school sweetheart, Helen V. Cain Rutan; four sons, Dave Rutan of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Donald (Cynthia) Rutan of Powell, Ohio, Doug (Sherri) Rutan of Marysville, Ohio, and Dean (Robin) Rutan of Harrisville, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Brian, Brock, Matthew, Joel, Abbey, John, and Rachel. He is also survived by his aunt, Nelle Rutan Shields of Mt. Pleasant, Ohio and several cousins.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday with Rev. Jerry Wenger officiating.
Burial follows in Olive Branch Cemetery, Harrisville, Ohio.
Flushing Lodge # 298 F&AM will provide Masonic Funeral Services at 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
