Martha Jean Vannest, 76 of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Thursday, October 26, 2006 at East Ohio Regional Hospital.

She was born at Woodsfield, Ohio on March 15, 1930 a daughter of the late James and Mary Taylor Wilson.

Martha Jean was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church at St. Clairsville.

She is survived by her husband James Vannest; 3 sons Ronald Vannest of St. Clairsville; Bruce Vannest of Bethesda and Dan Vannest of Mt. Airy, Maryland and a daughter Christy (Martin) Sulek of St. Clairsville; 12 grandchildren David, Kirk, Jason, Melissa, Jennifer, Matthew, Brian, Stacie, Sean, Crystal, Johnathan and Shane; 3 great grandchildren Alicia, Jerimiah and Ayden.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville where services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Laurie Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville.
