Martha Mae Glasgow, 89, of Bannock, Ohio died October 23, 2018 in East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry.

She was born October 18, 1929 in Egypt Valley, Ohio, daughter of the late Leslie Kirk Smith and Velma Mae Boniphant Smith.

Martha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who always put others first, especially her children.  She was a retired Registered Nurse from Martins Ferry Hospital and an active member of Thoburn United Methodist Church in St. Clairsville serving as chairperson of St. Clairsville Council of Churches, United Methodist Women Circle and Kitchen Crew. Martha also served as a Red Cross Volunteer for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert J. "Gib" Glasgow; a sister, Phyllis Ann Cieselka; brothers, Carl Kirk Smith, Vernon Smith and George Smith.

Surviving are her three children, Harry Kirk (Marcia) Glasgow of Bannock, Brenda Kay Sorensen of Blue Rock, Ohio and Susan Kay (Terry) Huntsman of St. Clairsville; two sisters, Marjorie (Jack) Ourant of Scio, and Delora Jean "Billie" Zollars of St. Clairsville; three brothers, Charles (Jo Ann) Smith of Flushing, Wayne Smith of St. Clairsville and Robert Smith of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Wesley Sorensen, Ohio, Dean Kirk Glasgow and Amber Faye Hope and five great grandchildren, Brayden Stewart, Serena Lodge, Dylan Lodge, Gavin Hope and Kyle Hope; several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, where services will be held on Saturday at 10 am. with Rev. Tom Jones Officiating.  Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
