Marlene L. Bumgardner, 83, of Belmont, Ohio, died Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in Wheeling Hospital.

She was born February 24, 1941, in Bellaire, Ohio, a daughter of the late Vernon Webb Sr. and Mary Helen Velegulla Christian.

Marlene was a retired employee of Lattigas Arabian Horse Farm in Flushing. She was a 1959 graduate of Bellaire High School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Grant Balwanz II, and a brother, Vernon Webb Christian Jr.

Marlene is survived by her husband, Ronald Lee Bumgardner; two daughters, Mary Gargala of Wooster and Maggie (Florian) Kopyar of Belmont; a son, Vernon Balwanz of Glencoe; a sister, Marianne Donahoe of Stewartsville; a brother, Alan Christian of Bellaire; ten grandchildren, Kaylin Amison, Seth Gargala, Alec Gargala, Natasha Hofer, Logan Kopyar, Dalton Kopyar, Tiffany Newkirk, Lacie Newkirk, Tyler Balwanz and Christian Colvin; and 12 great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, Sept. 30th from 12 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio. A private burial will be held in Warnock Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
