Marie F. "Fritzi" Hegedus, 84, of St. Clairsville, OH., passed away peacefully at East Ohio Regional Hospital Long Term Facility, Martins Ferry, OH. She was born May 9, 1940 in Glendale, WV., a daughter of the late Russell and Wilma Marie Wallace Rafferty.

Marie was a retired payroll/accountant clerk for Community Mental Heath in St. Clairsville and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clairsville.  She was a member of St. Clairsville Eagles Auxiliary, Welcome Wagon, Red Devil Mom's and Women's Auxiliary of the former Ohio Valley Medical Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve E. Hegedus; a son, Larry Dayton; two sisters, Virginia Cook and Patsy Reed.

Surviving are her children, Laura (Bernie) Ferguson of Harrisonburg, VA., Terry (Theresa) Dayton of Bannock, OH., and Steve (Whitney) Hegedus of Nashville, TN; one sister, Ellen Mastracci of Canal Winchester, OH; nine grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 9:30 am until time of Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Chillog as celebrant.  Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
