Obituary

Marian Gorsuch Feisley of St. Clairsville, Ohio, passed peacefully in her home on Tuesday, November 4th, in the arms of dear husband John, surrounded by her children.

Born on August 26, 1922 to John and Susanna Gorsuch, Marian was the eldest of four children. She attended Wayne High School and graduated Valedictorian of her class in 1940. She was a 1944 Graduate of the University of Cincinnati, where she was very proud to be one of the first women to participate in a University Work Co-op. While at University, she was honored to be a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.

On October 11, 1952, Marian was wed to John P. Feisley and they continued to be life long partners in Feisley Tree Farms, where she wore many hats over her years.

She was a long standing member of Tuesday Night Club, a St. Clairsville Literary Society. Along with her dear friend Phyllis Costine, they co-founded The Friends of the Library, a financial support group for the St. Clairsville Public Library.

Marian enjoyed the quest for antiques and was a committed member of the National Trail Questers. She served 6 years as Parliamentarian for the Ohio State Organization of The Questers. She was a great supporter of the Wheeling Symphony and of Education of all kinds.

Marian is preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters, Joan Gorsuch Bryant and Shirley Gorsuch Sommer, her first born Frederick Feisley and her son John Stewart Feisley.

She is survived by her husband, John P Feisley, her brother John W. Gorsuch of Scottsdale, Arizona, her son, Geoffrey E. Feisley, his wife Theresa Slavik Feisley of Belmont Ohio, and their sons Jacob D. Feisley of San Jose, California and William P. Feisley of Belmont, Ohio, her daughter Anne Feisley Holmes, her husband Murray K Holmes of Westerville Ohio and his son Marcus Livingston, his wife Tanya and their children Riley and Taylor of Reynoldsburg, Ohio.

While Marian's lifelong achievements were many…her most treasured were mirrored in her children's and her grandchildren's accomplishments.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother, doting gramma, supportive sister, an adored aunt, and a loyal friend to many.

The world is a little less bright with her passing.

Visitation will be at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Sunday, November 9th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.

Her funeral will be held at Thoburn United Methodist Church in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Monday, November 10th at 11am, with Rev. Kenneth Gifford officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, with a Life Celebration following at Feisley Tree Farms, Belmont, Ohio.
