Miller, Margie, 54 of ResCare's Mt. Hope 1 Group Home in Flushing, Ohio died Monday, October 3, 2011.
Margie was the adopted daughter of Martha Miller of Woodsfield, Ohio and lived at the Columbus State Institute for a brief time before moving to Belmont Habilitation Center in 2003.
She worked at Belco Works Workshop in St. Clairsville, She was a very productive worker and was very proud of the paycheck she earned.
Her appearance was very important to her. She had a large collection of beads and other jewelry. She wanted her hair, make-up, and jewelry to be perfect and enjoyed compliments about her appearance. She also enjoyed a variety of collections, especially purses and sunglasses.
Margie enjoyed the attention of others. She could be very helpful around the house with daily chores and would help her housemates. Margie enjoyed life! She was always ready to go somewhere, it didn't matter where as long as she was out in the world. She enjoyed parties, dances, and other functions. She was crowned Queen of the Ball at ResCare's Valentines Dance in 2011. She also enjoyed bowling, typing and many other activities.
Margie had her own thoughts of how things should be and she did not hesitate in expressing this to others. Margie would verbalize to others but also signed and was very proficient in explaining what she wanted or needed. Expressing herself to others was probably the most important thing to Margie, so it was clear to everyone what she expected.
Margie will be sadly missed by everyone involved in her life, including her housemates, co-workers, and friends in the Ohio Valley.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Friday from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Wenger officiating.
Burial follows in Oak View Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
