Margaret A. Roth, age 83, of St. Clairsville, died Friday, May 28, 2004 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling. She was born on August 12, 1920 at Maynard, Ohio, daughter of the late David and Beatrice Smith Applegarth.

She was a retired dispatcher for the St. Clairsville Police Department and a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church at St. Clairsville.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Roth, Jr.; a daughter, Michal Roth; a grandson, Sean Michael Byrne; and two brothers, Harold and Donald Applegarth.

Surviving are two sons, David Roth and his wife Betty and Michael W. Roth and his wife Debbie all of St. Clairsville; four daughters, Nancy Bintz and her husband Jim of Lewisville, OH, Diane Cepeda and her husband Luis of San Antonio, TX, June Hughes and her husband Rich of Bannock and Lynn Byrne and her husband Douglas G. of St. Clairsville; two brothers, Wayne Applegarth of Columbus and Richard Applegarth of Maine; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville where services will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Kim Anderson and Rev. Martin Roth officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
