Lucinda Sue "Cindy" Carpenter, 72, of Bowerston, OH., passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Akron City Hospital.  She was born March 2, 1951 in Barnesville, OH., a daughter of the late Charles E. and Lillian M. Shacklock Grant.

Cindy was a homemaker and retired from Dollar General in St. Clairsville and a member of Centerville Christian Church.  Cindy loved to work puzzles, sewing and attending the Barnesville Pumpkin Festival and Amish Country with her sisters.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger K. Carpenter in October of 2023; a grandson, Isaac Blake; a brother, Eugene "Barney" Grant.

Surviving are her children, Stephanie (Curtis) Blake of Scio, OH.,  Nannette (Keith) McMahon of Jacobsburg, OH and Bridget (Kevin) Rowson of Key, OH; eight grandchildren, Samantha (Ryan) Nisperly, Jesse (Emily) Carpenter, Aren (Bri) McMahon, Randijo (Payden) McMahon, Sidney Rowson, Bevin Rowson, Cody Blake, Zane Blake; eight great grandchildren; siblings, Joyce (Larry) Van Fossen of Canal Fulton, OH., Phyllis (Gary) Steen of Barnesville, Janie Phillips of Cleveland, OH., Raymond (Lori) Grant of Jerusalem, OH., Darrell (Donna) Grant and Ernie (Mary) Grant both of Centerville, OH; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 11 am until time of funeral services at 2 pm at Toothman Funeral Home, Jacobsburg, OH with Pastor Jeff Taylor officiating.  Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery, Centerville.
