Obituary

Louis Carl "Buddy" Pauchnik Jr., 84, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died November 24, 2014 at East Ohio Regional Hospital.

He was born in Maynard, Ohio on October 29, 1930, son of the late Louis Pauchnik Sr. and Caroline Baumkircher Pauchnik.

Louis was a retired coal miner from Oglebay Norton Mines. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Maynard. He was a member of the VFW Post 5356 in St. Clairsville and the Fairpoint Polish Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Amelia Yansen.

Surviving are his wife, Sally Shinoski Pauchnik; a step-daughter, Barbara Baird; a sister, Mary Ayres of Trenton, New Jersey; several nieces and nephews; 3 step-grandchildren; and step-great grandchildren.

There will be a Memorial Mass held at St. Stanislaus Church in Maynard on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. with Father Thomas Graven the celebrant.

Full Military Honors will be provided by the Belmont County Veterans Association at 9:15 in the church.

Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville.
