Louis “L.K.” Kenneth Hess, Jr., 84, of St. Clairsville, Ohio passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026 at Park Health Center, St. Clairsville. He was born January 22, 1942 in Wheeling, West Virginia, a son of the late Louis K. and Dorothy I. Berry Hess, Sr.

L.K. was the proud owner/operator and general contractor for Hess Builders in St. Clairsville for many years specializing in custom built homes, electrical, plumbing and deck construction. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed all building chores.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia S. Reline Hess in 2025.

Surviving are his children, William “Bill” (Elaine) Hess of Shadyside, Ohio, Brett Hess and Tamara “Tammy” (Tracy) Hess both of St. Clairsville; four grandchildren, Joseph Glackin, Matthew Glackin, Bill Hess, Jr. and Lindsay Hess; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Barry Hess of Strasburg, Ohio and John (Sandy) Hess of Oxnard, California.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday from noon until time of funeral services at 2 pm at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville with family members to speak. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
