Louis Alexander, age 87, of Lafferty, Ohio, died Monday, October 25, 2004 at his home.
He was born May 9, 1917 at Lafferty, a son of the late Victor and Rose Agosti Alexander.
Louis was a retired highway inspector for Ohio Department of Transportation. He was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church at Lafferty; a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 5356 at St. Clairsville.
In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by a brother, Rudy Alexander and two sisters, Alma Glavaris and Lena Mistovich.
Surviving are his wife, Jennie Manzoni Alexander; two daughters, Nancy Kidd and her husband Mike of Bannock and Nora Vcelka and her husband Butch of St. Clairsville; four grandchildren, Ricky Doty, Michael Kidd, Shonda Vcelka Bourquin and Scott Vcelka; four great granddaughters, Alli, Kayla, Madison and Sydney; and a sister, Ida Lucas of Barnesville.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 9 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Lafferty on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at 11 a.m., with Father Chester Pabin the celebrant. Burial will follow at Rock Hill Cemetery, Flushing, Ohio.
A Vigil Service will be held on Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Belmont County Council of VFW?s.
