Lona Fluharty (Lonnie), 76, of Bridgeport, Ohio, formerly of Bellaire and Woodsfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 4, 2019 at EORH surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on May 8, 1942 in Stewartsville, Ohio, daughter of the late John and Helen (Clark) Kozak.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, Dorsey Fluharty and her sister, Marcie Williams.
Lonnie was retired from the former Bellaire Clinic and Ohio Hills Health Services. She was a proud member of the United Steelworkers, past president of her local union and a delegate of the Belmont-Monroe AFL-CIO.
She is survived by her sisters, Carol Moore of Scottsdale, AZ and Helen Majzun of Bellaire; daughters, Michele (Rich) Namlik of Neffs, Suzanne (Bill) Persinger of Shadyside and Melanie (Ted) Noah of Canton; sons, Mark (Joan) Fluharty of Reynoldsburg and Jeff (Patty) Fluharty of Jerusalem; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Sammy.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, where a celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Jerusalem Cemetery.
