Lois Faye Groves, 79 of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Friday, May 20, 2016 at Wheeling Hospital.
She was born October 24, 1936 in Flushing, Ohio, a daughter of the late Joseph Rine and Gratta Brock Rine.
Lois was a homemaker, co-owner and operator of Groves Pumpkin Farm, a former employee of L.S. Good & Co., Lowry Organ Store, Armstrong Hardware, and the Belmont County Courthouse.
She was a member of East Richland Evangelical Friends Church, a 1954 graduate of Barnesville High School, and an active alumna serving for years on reunion committees. She was a former Girl Scout Leader, 4-H Advisor, and Red Devils Mom booster. She enjoyed making bake goods and crafts which she sold at the pumpkin farm and farmer's market.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Freda Foughty and Madelon Barricklow.
Surviving are her husband, Russell S. Groves; three children, Sharon (Dino) Panepucci of Midland, Michigan, Linda (Mike) Coates of Plain City, Ohio, and Joe (Val) Groves of Cary, North Carolina; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; she also played an important role in the lives of many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at East Richland Friends Church on Monday at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Wayne Ickes officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove. Family and friends are invited to lunch at the church after the graveside service.
