Obituary

Linda Ray Scaggs, 78, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, under the EXCELLENT care of Valley Hospice at Park Health Center, St. Clairsville.

She was born January 20, 1944, in Huntington, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Raymond A. Curtis and Pauline Blanche Johnson Curtis.

Linda graduated from St. Albans High School in 1962 and attended Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, Mississippi.  Linda retired from Bordas and Bordas Law Firm after Thirty plus years and was a member and organist at First Baptist Church of Wheeling since 2008.  Her special ministry was heading up the Awana CHRISTmas Store at First Baptist every year and spent months searching and buying gifts for every child to have 2 gifts to choose for their family members. She was a strong Christian woman.

Linda also Loved Bowling and was Secretary of the Bordas and Bordas bowling league at St. Clair Lanes for 30 years. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Bowling Association.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Loving husband of 50 years, Clayton Winston "Sonny" Scaggs.

Surviving is a special friend whom she Loved dearly that she claimed as her daughter, Andrea Jenkins; three sisters, Marguerite (Gerald) Pauley, Ellen (David) Love, and Carol (Mark) Masters; two brothers, Terry (Linda) Curtis, and John Curtis; several nephews and one niece and many great nieces and great nephews.

Linda Loved and Served the Lord well and was much Loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday December 28 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church, 1470 National Rd., Wheeling, WV on Thursday December 29 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Darrin Wright officiating.

Burial will be private and held later in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, West Virginia.
