Gonot, Lillian, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, formerly of California and St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Sunday, November 9, 2008 at home.

She was born January 23, 1935 in St. Clairsville, daughter of the late Leo and Rose Gonot.

Lillian was a retired school teacher, counselor and principal in California. She earned her Bachelors and Masters Degree from Kent State University.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters and brothers, Kitty Meyo, Helen Dalmas, Leo, Carl and Jimmy Gonot.

Surviving are four sisters, Nancy Pogoda of San Jose, California, Joan Gulajski of Silver Lake, Ohio, Patty Jakubic of St. Clairsville, and Sandy Contis of Pittsburgh; sister-in-law, Kathleen Gonot of St. Clairsville; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m., with Father Anthony Batt officiating. Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
