Lena Louise Briggs Lewis, 83, of Dilles Bottom, Ohio, died November 23, 2023, at Select Specialty Hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia.

She was born January 14, 1940, in Dilles Bottom, Ohio, a daughter of the late Luby Miller Briggs and William John Briggs.

Lena was a retired nurse's aide from Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheeling. She enjoyed Bingo and loved spending time with her family, especially her many grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James M. "Pancake" Lewis; two sons, James Dwane Lewis and Kenneth Ray Lewis; a sister, Marlene Pierce and a brother, William Jack Briggs.

Lena is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Joseph Helmbright) Lewis, Brittney Lewis and Brooke (Frank) Bauer; a brother, John Briggs; grandchildren her two caregivers, Jamie (Jesse Arno) and Lori Steadman, Tonya (Jason) Palmer, Jimmy Lewis, Justin Lewis, Cody Lewis, Michael Weekley, Renee Mchar, Chelsey Neitzelt, and Kayla Ware; Many great grandchildren including a caregiver, John Steadman, Lexie, Chase, and Dillon Palmer, Brandon Tollie and Alyssa Huntsman; 7 great-great grandchildren, Chloe, John, Claria, Lilah, William, Kennedy, and Brantley; many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, Ohio, on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 2 p.m. until time of service at 5 p.m., with Wayne Clark officiating. A private burial will be held in Powhatan Cemetery.
