LaVerne Frances "Sissy" Sikora, 74, Lore City, Ohio, died on December 31, 2006 at Country View Assisted Living in Lore City. She was born in Maynard, Ohio, on September 10, 1932, daughter of the late John Sikora and Frances Mary Durda Weekley.

Sissy was a retired Registered Nurse in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of Ruth Brant School of Nursing in Martins Ferry and a graduate of Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. She was a Catholic by faith and a member of the PNA Lodge # 455 in Maynard. LaVerne was an avid reader and Knitter.

She is Survived by a sister, Helen Vascura of St. Clairsville; a brother, John E. (Betty Ann) Sikora of Pleasant Grove; three nieces, Terry Sikora, Paula (Jeff) Martin and Lorraine Sikora; two nephews, David (Jackie) Vascura and Michael (Chelsey) Vascura; one grand niece; and two grand nephews.

A Funeral Liturgy with Mass was held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in St. Clairsville with Father Christopher Foxhoven the celebrant. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville. Arrangements by Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.
