Laura Jo Prosser, 90, of St. Clairsville died March 10, 2019 in East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry.
She was born October 15, 1928 in Doddridge County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Clyde Goodwin and Ruby Baker Goodwin.
Jo was a teacher and a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church. She was an avid sports fan, an educator and loved her church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Prosser Jr.; her son, George E. "Skip" Prosser III; and a sister, Betty Sinclair.
Surviving are her daughter, Cindy Jo Gross of St. Clairsville; five grandchildren, Scott Prosser, Mark (Emily) Prosser, Ryan Gross, Laurann (Dan) Young and Katyn (Ryan) Gross; seven great grandchildren, Jamison, Camden and Brenton Young, Ava and Declan Prosser and Bryar and Bayer Vicker; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Thoburn United Methodist Church, 209 E. Main St., St. Clairsville, on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until time of Celebration of Life Service at 6 p.m. with Pastors Tom Jones and Bill Wendell officiating. Private burial will be held in Chartiers Cemetery in Carnegie, Pennsylvania. Arrangements are entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Thoburn U.M.C. for Children's Education or St. Clairsville High School Athletic Department or Wheeling Central Catholic Athletic Department.
