Porterfield, Larry Rankin, 58, of Kansas City, Missouri, died Tuesday, July 28, 2009.
He was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on February 21, 1951, son of the late Robert G. and Sara Lee Walker Porterfield.
Larry was the owner of Willow Creek Group, a successful business which he formed and bears the family dairy farm name. He was a former Vice-President of U.S. Sprint; served as Vice-President in several key organizations; and began his career at General Electric. Larry was a 1972 graduate of The Ohio State University majoring in finance and computer science.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sarah Lee Porterfield.
He is survived by his former wife, Jo; his two sons, Jason (Andrea) Porterfield and Alex (Jamie) Porterfield; his brother, Kirke (Judi) Porterfield; his grandchildren, James, Brannon, Allison and "a player to be named" (Due August 15th); nephews; and countless others whose lives he touched.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31st from 2 p.m. until time of services at 3 p.m. at Mount Moriah Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, MO.
