Leslie Lee Lawrence, age 83, of Lamira Road, Belmont, Ohio, died Friday, October 1, 2004 at Park Health Center, St. Clairsville.

He was born April 4, 1921 at Maysville, Kentucky, a son of the late James and Lillian Lawrence.

Lee was a retired pilot of the Moundsville Ferry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Elmer, Clarence and Obie Lawrence; a sister, Gladys Turner and a grandson, Jonathon.

Surviving are his wife, Essie Baker Lawrence; children, Nancy Biebighauser of Bonita Springs, Florida, Louise McClelland of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ruth Smith of Washington Courthouse, Ohio, Judy Turvey of Bethesda, Carol Dudash of Bethesda, Maggie James of Belmont, Tom (Debbie) Lawrence of Jacobsburg, Brenda (Bill) Kirkland of Belmont, Jane (Roger) McKeen of St. Clairsville, John (Debbie) Lawrence of St. Clairsville and Melissa Kelly of Bethesda; 22 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, where services will be held on Monday, October 4, 2004 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Warnock Cemetery, Warnock, Ohio.
