Kenneth Odell Whetzel, 79, of Jacobsburg, OH., passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born October 17, 1945, in Petersburg, WV., a son of the late Curtis Odell and Delores Kathaleen Barth Whetzel.

Ken was retired from the Carpenter's Union in Virginia, and a farmer.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing but most of all, his farm.  He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Whetzel; a step son, Wayne O'Neil; a step daughter, Sheri O'Neil.

Surviving are his wife, Carol L. Caldwell Whetzel of Jacobsburg; his children, Kenny (Shelly) Whetzel of Virginia, Steven (Barbara) Whetzel of Florida, John (Michelle) Woods of Virginia; step children, Jim (Brenda) O'Neil, Sheryl O'Neil, Louise (Mike) Buerger; siblings, Joyce Robertson of Ohio, Jacqueline (Charles) Herr, David (Kathy) Whetzel, Mary Kathleen Huffstickler and Michael (Christine) Whetzel, all of Virginia; grandchildren, Tyler, Jessica, Leah, Maya, Hailey and Maria; 12 step grandchildren and 12 step great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

As per his wishes, no visitation or services are planned.  A family gathering will be held this summer on the farm.
