Phillips, Kenneth R., 95 of Centerville, Ohio died Saturday, July 7, 2012 at his home.
He was born in Shadyside, Ohio on July 29, 1916 a son of the late Alonzo O. Phillips and Alta Fern Meek Phillips.
Kenny was a retired coal miner from the former North American Coal Co. #3 Mine. He was a member of the Centerville Christian Church, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a life member Glencoe American Legion and Bellaire VFW posts.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dulcie L. Walters Phillips; brothers, Paul, Russell and Newell Phillips; a sister, Virginia Kirkland and a son-in-law, Larry Baker.
He is survived by a son, Kenneth J. Phillips (Shirley) of St. Clairsville, Ohio; a daughter Darlene Baker Bumgardner (Marvin) of Centerville, Ohio; a brother, Newell Phillips of Cleveland; grandchildren, Rick Phillips (Mary) of Warnock, Greg Phillips (Michelle) of Cleveland, Debbie Bonnell (Robert), Darla Kitzmiller (Keely) all of St. Clairsville, Lori Carpenter (Clesson) of Centerville, Todd Baker (Melissa) of St. Clairsville and Larry Baker (Heidi) of Centerville; 11 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home, Jacobsburg, Ohio on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Don Eberhart officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens.
