Obituary

BROWNFIELD, Kenneth D., 88, of Colerain, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Forest Hill Nursing Home in St. Clairsville.

He was born in Piney Fork, Ohio on July 24, 1924 son of the late Kenneth D. Brownfield and Esther Marbais Brownfield Mandich.

Kenneth was a retired first class welder from Consol Coal Company Ireland Mine. He enjoyed carpentry and built several homes including his home in Colerain. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #8848 in Colerain.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Sabo.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Lucille Copeland Brownfield, a daughter, Connie J. Gerritz and her husband Albert K. of Tucson, Arizona, two half sisters, a half-brother, and nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home, 141 S. Marietta St., St. Clairsville where services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Homer Harden officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.

Belmont County VFW Honor Guard will conduct services on Saturday at 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
