Kenneth William Blanton, 71, of Sand Hill Road Bellaire, Ohio, after an arduous journey with Alzheimer's, peace came January 27, 2020 at Belmont Manor, St. Clairsville, Ohio.

He was born May 26, 1948, in Weirton, West Virginia, the son of the late Willie Scott Blanton and Iris Virginia Howell Blanton.

Ken was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Viet Nam.  A graduate of West Liberty State College. Retired as a construction estimator, project manager, architectural draftsman/surveyor and designer. Worked for several different construction companies including Walters Construction Co., Wheeling, John Russel Construction, Steubenville, Creative Design Innovations, Louisville, OH, Evick Construction, St. Clairsville and the City of Wheeling. He was also associated with Kayafas Architects Inc. and Heritage Architectural Associates and taught drafting and Auto CAD.  Ken was a member of the Thoburn United Methodist Church in St. Clairsville and enjoyed golfing, bowling, sports cars, drawing and building things. He was always ready to help anyone in need.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Robin Hanigan.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Keller Blanton, a son Brett (Ami) Blanton, Wheeling, WV, a step-son Eric Marling, Bellaire, OH; a brother Bob (Diane) Blanton, Amelia, OH, a sister Jean Mick, Shelbyville, KY; 3 grandchildren Victoria, Samantha and Michael Blanton, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville where services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Tom Jones officiating. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association.  Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.

Memorial donations may be made to an Alzheimer's Association or Thoburn United Methodist Church.
