Kathy Ann Whittington, 62, of Powhatan Point, Ohio, died on July 10, 2026, at Country Club Retirement Center in Bellaire, OH.
She was born August 8th, 1963, a beloved daughter of Ralph and Bessie (Baker) Bartimus.
Kathy was a retired schoolteacher, after years of service in many places all over the Ohio Valley. Kathy was also an employee of Vivid Graphics in Bellaire, OH for many years, showcasing her embroidering talents. She never met a stranger, and was always bubbly, happy, and welcoming to everyone she ever talked to; Kathy had the ability to find beauty in everything. She was such an outgoing and creative person, which was seen in all her artwork. Kathy loved anything to do with the arts, including singing and music in general. Outside of the arts, she loved nature, specifically fishing and camping. Most of all, she loved spending time with her beloved grandkids and was always there for them whenever they needed her.
In addition to her parents, Ralph Bartimus and Bessie Bartimus-Thomas; Kathy was preceded in death by two grandsons Colton and Carson Dodd; her stepfather Kenny Thomas, and a stepbrother Marlin Thomas.
Kathy is survived by her children, Anna (Bryan) Dodd, Ben Whittington, and Katrina (Lewis) Rymanowicz; her grandchildren, Braylon and Ayziah Dodd; her siblings, Tara (Ralph) James, Travis (Ann) Bartimus, and Tracy (Brenda) Bartimus; her uncles, Mike (JoAnn) Bartimus and Jim (Carol) Bartimus; her stepsiblings Lynn Thomas and Frances Jo Thomas; and several cousins, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, step-nieces and step-nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, July 18th from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, OH with Pastor Donald R. Lawson Jr. officiating.
