Kathryn Mary Zavacky, 98, of Midway, Ohio, died November 10, 2024, in Forest Hill Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in St. Clairsville.

She was born March 4, 1926, in Fairpoint, Ohio, a daughter of the late Otto Kasik and Mabel Findlay Kasik.

Kathryn was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a Kinsman School alumnus and was a member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church. She was able to teach herself music and how to play the guitar and she was an exceptional cook and baker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Zavacky; two sons, Dennis and Sam Zavacky; daughters-in-law, Linda Zavacky and Daryl Zavacky; son-in-law, Stanley Kolanski; a granddaughter, Janelle Zavacky Nardo; a great grandson, Dominick Nardo; and her five sisters, Laura Morrison, Madalyn Staten, Elizabeth Mazeroski, Dorothy Bowden and Mildred Stack.

Kathryn is survived by her daughter, Ruth Kolanski; three grandchildren, Lynette (Jon) DeBertrand, Denise (Rob) Kesel and Darla (Bron Stadheim) Zavacky; three great grandchildren, Kelsey and Tanner Kesel and Jacob DeBertrand; and nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial visitation on Sunday, November 17th from 1 p.m. until time of Celebration of Life held at 2 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.
