Kathryn Palian Bannan, age 83, of Bellaire, died Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at Trinity East Medical Center in Steubenville.
She was born at Bellaire, Ohio on June 7, 1923, a daughter of the late Martin and Vincentia Horvath Palian.
Kathryn was a 1941 graduate of Bellaire High School and a graduate of Elliott School of Business. She was a former employee of Ohio Power Company in Bellaire and a member of St. John?s Catholic Church at Bellaire.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Bannan on Nov. 26, 1992; a grandson, Richard C. Althar II on April 4, 1999; a sister, Mary Ellen Stein; an infant brother, Stephen; and a niece Sandy.
She is survived by a daughter, Monica Althar and her husband Richard Althar I; a granddaughter, Lorrie Holt and her husband Dusty Holt all of Bellaire; a sister Ann Skvarka and her husband Tom of Benwood, West Virginia; a brother, Martin (Butch) Palian and his wife Delihah (Dee) of Bellaire; four nieces and two nephews; 11 great nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John?s Catholic Church in Bellaire with Monsignor Gene Mullett the celebrant.
