McCann, Kathleen M., 92 of Centerville, Ohio died Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Emerald Point Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Barnesville.

She was born at Junior, WV on February 23, 1915 the oldest child of the late Earl P. and Alverta (Shomo) Slaughter.

Kathleen operated a dairy farm near Centerville and was a foster parent to over 250 children in 34 years from 1950 to 1984 and was a member of the Centerville Christian Church where she taught Sunday School for 50 years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin S. McCann whom she married on October 26, 1934 in McMechen, WV; brothers Denzil, Ralph, Stanley and Dale Slaughter; sisters Lucille Arnett, Myrtle Lowther and Martha Robson.

She is survived by her children Edwin (Pat) McCann of Vienna, IL, Patricia Moore of Centerville, OH, George McCann of Fayetteville, NC, Arthur (Kyong) McCann of Radcliff, KY, Gene McCann of Flushing, OH and Sue McCann of Seaside, CA; sisters Evelyn (Steve) Miker and Ruth Robinson all of Morgantown, WV; grandchildren Terry McCann, Mike (Charmayne) McCann, Alan (Mary) McCann, David (Sandy) McCann, Jeff (Wendy) McCann, Brenda (Jeff) Heath, Melissa (Gary) Heath, Heather (Jim) Wesley, Steven (Teresa) McCann, Michelle Moore, Arthur McCann Jr., Angela McCann, Bryan McCann and Jennifer McCann; great grandchildren Brandon, Kara, Kelsie, Gregory, Hannah, Cameron, Rachel, Emily, Melinda, Jacob, Sabrina, Justin, Brandi, Terra Kay, Brian, Kyle, Wade, Casey, Clayton, Matthew, Shane and one great great grandchild.

Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home, Jacobsburg, OH on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Art McCann and Keith Kaczor officiating. Burial will follow in the Armstrong Cemetery, Armstrongs Mills, OH.
