Obituary
Katherine "Helen" Zayac Alexander, 83, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2014 in Cumberland Pointe Care Center.
She was born November 25, 1930 in Senecaville, Ohio daughter of the late Thomas and Frances Kayda Zayac from Austria, Hungary. She was a graduate of Senecaville High School and graduated from Good Samaritan School of Nursing in 1952. She was a registered nurse and was employed at various places including Martins Ferry Hospital where she retired. She was a Catholic by faith. On September 27, 1952 she married Ernest Thomas Alexander, who preceded her in death on January 5, 1996.
She is survived by her sister, Frances Bates of Senecaville; a sister-in-law, Eloise Zayac of Cambridge; a brother-in-law, Bob Johnson of Zanesville; many nieces and nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Helen is preceded in death by sisters, Mary Johnson, Julia Dashiell; half-sister, Christina Bonham; brothers, Frank, Ed, Bill and Tom Zayac; and half-brother, Fred Zayac.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio with Father Thomas Chillog officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
