FUNKHOUSER, Junior E., 65, of Glencoe, Ohio died Monday, January 23, 2012 at Wheeling Hospital.
He was born December 12, 1946 in Bellaire, Ohio, son of the late John and Ethel Moore Funkhouser.
Junior was a retired construction worker and coal miner. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the VFW. He was a devoted father and grandfather and an avid outdoorsman enjoying trapping, hunting, fishing and mushrooming.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Marie Pierce Funkhouser; 2 brothers, Thomas and Roger Funkhouser and a sister, Hope Funkhouser.
Surviving are his children, Kimberly (Donald) Verardi of West Alexander, PA, Eugene A. (Dawna) Funkhouser of Wheeling, Judith L. (David) Figueroa of Sayreville, NJ, Lisa M. (Carla) Dobrich of Flushing, Jennifer (Matt) Totterdale of Diamondale, MI and Yolanda (David) Christy of Bellaire; 6 brothers, Charles, James, John, Richard, Donald and Michael Funkhouser; 2 sisters, Ellen DuVall and Sharon Underwood; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., where services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will follow in Warnock Cemetery with Full Military Honors by the U.S. Navy.
