Judge C. Kenneth Henry, 85 of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Thursday, August 13, 2009 at his home.
He was born November 2, 1923 in Wheeling, W.V., a son of the late Clarence George Henry and Dessie Cleona Dott Henry.
Kenneth was a retired Common Pleas, Probate and Juvenile Judge in Belmont County, Ohio serving for twelve years.
He was a graduate of Bethany College and received his Doctorate of Law Degree from Case Western Reserve University Law School. He became a practicing attorney in 1951 and went on to serve as legal counsel for the villages of Belmont, Flushing, Morristown, Holloway, and Bethesda. He also served Clerk Treasurer for the City of St. Clairsville, and Assistant Prosecutor and Western Division Judge in Belmont County. He was past president of the Belmont County Bar Association, member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Secretary-Treasurer of the Belmont County Law Library, past president of East Ohio Booster?s Association, and former secretary of the St. Clairsville Noon Rotary Club. He was an Army Air Force veteran of WWII serving in Africa from 1943-1945, a member and Elder Emeritus of the Wheeling Island Christian Church and member of St. Clairsville American Legion Post #159.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Muriel Kay.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Pauline Dyrdek Henry; four children, Jeff Henry of St. Clairsville, Kevin Henry (Asma) of Atlanta, Georgia, Paula Henry Danyi (John) of Christiansburg, Virginia, and Karen Henry Dowd (Jeff) of Silver Lake, Ohio; 7 grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Sunday from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. beginning at 7:15 p.m. Belmont County Council of American Legions will conduct military services followed by a funeral service at 7:30 p.m. with Pastor Judy Bennett and Fr. Thomas Chillog officiating.
A private service will be held on Monday at the Wheeling Island Christian Church followed by burial in the Belmont County Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
