Joyce "Kaye" Gossett Schneider, 82, of Cridersville, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born June 24, 1943, in Lamira, Ohio to the late Dale and Lucille Brown Gossett.

Kaye was a teacher of Biology and worked as a Librarian for the Mercer County District Library. Kaye graduated from St. Clairsville High School in 1961. She graduated from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio with a degree in Biology. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a master's degree in library of science.  She married Austin R. Schneider on June 17, 1967. She formerly attended the East Richland Evangelical Friends Church. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting, music, animals, nature and was an avid reader.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Austin R. Schneider in 2016.

She is survived by several cousins and special friends, Andy (Tracy) Schnipke and Elizabeth "Liz" Meuther.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville, Ohio on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of funeral services at 10 a.m. with Pastor Ray Benesh officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain, Ohio.
