Joseph G. Zusack, 73 of Maynard Rd., St. Clairsville died Monday, February 23, 2004 at Wheeling Hospital.
He was born April 5, 1930 in Maynard. A son of the late John Zusack and Veronica Miker Zusack.
Joe was a retired Superintendent from Oglebay-Norton?s Saginaw Mine in St. Clairsville with 42 years of employment, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Maynard and the Maynard American Legion Post No. 666.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, a brother, John Zusack, and a sister, Irene Plewniak.
Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Marilee Dopkiss Zusack; daughter, D. Renee Zusack of Orlando, FL.; sons, J. Patrick Zusack and his wife Denise of Orlando, FL., and James G. Zusack and his wife Jodi of Bellaire; sister, Velma Skovron of Greenwich, CT; beloved grandchildren, Ashley Volan of Orlando, FL and Logan James Zusack of Bellaire.
Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday from 2 to 6 p.m. with a vigil service at 3:00 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Maynard with Father Thomas Graven the celebrant.
According to Joe?s wishes a private interment of his cremated remains will be held in the Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville at the convenience of the family. Belmont County Council of American Legions will conduct services at 5:45 p.m., Wednesday in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church or to the Maynard United Methodist Church.
