Obituary

Joseph J. Jingle, Sr., 83 of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Thursday, September 2, 2004 at Wheeling Hospital.

He was born February 20, 1921 in Maynard, Ohio a son of the late John and Sophia Snyder Dziegiel.

Joe was a an employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel for 19 years and was retired from Ormet in Hannibal, Ohio and was a past president of the Ormet Retirees Club He was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #4243 both at St. Clairsville and the Polish National Alliance. Joe served his country during World War II as a platoon Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific theatre.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Rose Novy, Mary Johnson and Wanda Manolis and a brother, Walter Jingle.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Helen A. Cizeski Jingle; five children, Barbara Steele and her husband Richard of St. Clairsville; Joseph Jingle, Jr. of Medina, Ohio; David Jingle and his wife Joyce of Bellaire, Ohio; Richard Jingle and his wife Lyn of Seven Lakes, North Carolina and Rosemarie Jingle of Columbus, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, Jeff Jingle, Jenny Jingle, Julia Jingle, Brian Steele, Matt Steele, Stephanie Jingle, Christopher Jingle, Andy Jingle, Casie Jingle, Evan Jingle, Courtney Jingle and Eric Jingle; 1 great grandchild, Aidan Jingle; 2 nieces, 3 nephews and his brother-in-law, John Cizeski.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville, Ohio with vigil services at 7 p.m. followed by Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7:15 p.m. Concelebrated Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary?s Catholic Church, St. Clairsville with Father Thomas Chillog and Father Christopher Foxhoven the celebrants. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.

Military graveside services will be conducted by the Belmont County Council of the American Legion.
