Joseph Edward Rock Sr, 88, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died November 23, 2019 in Wheeling Hospital.

He was born January 24, 1931 in Emeigh, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Peter and Anna Kalus Rock.

Joe worked in maintenance for various industrial companies and retired from Hercules Powder Co. in 1993. A "Jack of all trades," Joe was a good carpenter, builder and mechanic. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force having been stationed in Germany during the Korean War.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanor Toto Rock in 1967; and his sister, Margaret Rock.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Grace Ward Rock; four sons, Joseph Rock Jr., Michael Rock, John Rock and Tony Rock; three stepchildren, Jill Waugh, Michael Knowlton and Marilyn Yeamans; 9 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. with Father Thomas Chillog officiating.  The Belmont County Veterans Association will conduct Full Military Honors at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
