Joseph Frank Kubik, 73, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Thursday, December 10, 2020 at his home.

He was born May 26, 1947 in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late Frank Kubik and Mildred Vrba Kubik.

Joe was a teacher having taught at Belmont Technical College, Wheeling Central and St. Clairsville-Richland City Schools. He was extremely active with the St. Clairsville Soccer Association, serving in many capacities including youth soccer coach, and a Board Member, he also worked the grounds and maintenance crews. For his dedication he was awarded the 2019 volunteer of the year for the Ohio Youth Soccer Association (North). Joe was the former St. Clairsville High School Girls Soccer coach. Another of his passions was distance running, he was an Ironman, having run in every Elby's Distance Race and Ogden Distance Race from 1977 to 2013.

Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, Marilyn Barcheck Kubik, two children, Robert Joseph Kubik of St. Clairsville, Ohio and Kelley (Jake) Priebs of Anchorage, Alaska, a sister, Carol Kubik of Bridgeport, Ohio and several loving pets.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic there will be a private service to be held at the convenience of the family, with Father Thomas Chillog officiating. Burial will be in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove. Arrangements are entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Belmont County Animal Rescue League or the Belmont County Animal Shelter.
