John Darrell Weekley, 92, of Rockwood, Tn. died recently. He was born in Armstrongs Mills, Ohio and was the Son of Thomas J. Weekley and Anna C. Taylor Weekley.
He was a graduate of St. Clairsville High School and a Veteran of the United States Armed Forces serving during World War II. He retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a civil service officer. John was a member of the Whites Creek Baptist Church. John was a fishing guide on a TVA lake for many years. He loved the outdoors and was an avid sports fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Geraldine Jerry Lantz, LaNelle (Wheldin) Snedden and an infant Brother Donald and a Nephew Jack Lantz.
John is survived by a niece Suzie Lantz Ralston (Bill) of Harrisville, Ohio, Niece-in-Law Hilda Lantz of St. Clairsville and several Great Nieces and Nephews and a dear friend Lorene Hensley of Tennessee.
A graveside memorial service will be held at the Concord Cemetery in Centerville, Ohio on Saturday April 25 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Drew McPeek officiating along with military honor services conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association.
