Obituary
John Edward Rice, 80, of Midway, Ohio passed peacefully on Friday, August 31, 2007 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 1, 1927 in Maynard, a son of the late Stanislow Rys (Stanley Rice) and Anna Waszkowicz Rice Kaufman.
John was a retired employee from Norfolk Southern Railway with 45 years of service. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Adena American Legion Post #525.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters and a brother.
Surviving are his loving wife of 56 years, Norma Pech Rice; five children, Noreen, Janie, Nancy, Lorrie and Ed; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Union Cemetery on Monday at 11 a.m.
