John Johnson, 101, of Little McMahon Creek Rd., St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Sunday, March 12, 2006 at Shadyside Care Center. He was born March 8, 1905 in Skjak, Norway, son of the late John Hansnartrede and Ronnaug Johnson Hansnartrede.

He was a retired auto repairman and a painter from Sickles in Cadiz. He worked in Detroit, Michigan for Ford, Packard, Chevrolet and Chrysler. John was a former member of the St. Clairsville Eagles Aerie #2541.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Della Dyrdek Johnson; a son, John Johnson; an infant daughter; two brothers and two sisters in Norway.

Surviving are his two sons, Richard (Angelina) Johnson of Bellaire and David (Sandra) Johnson of North Canton, Ohio, five grandchildren, Jennifer Collins of Shadyside, Todd Johnson of Houston, Texas, Kevin Johnson, Keith Johnson and Kent Johnson all of Canton, Ohio; nine great grandchildren; a brother, Rolf and numerous nieces and nephews in Norway.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio, where services will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville.
