John Joseph Jaskowiak, Sr., 85, of Midway – St. Clairsville, died May 22, 2025, in Cumberland Pointe Care Center.
He was born June 11, 1939, in Fairpoint, Ohio, son of the late Stanley and Mary Potter Jaskowiak.
John was a U. S Army veteran, a retired coal miner from North American Coal Company #5 Mine in Powhatan Point, and retired employee from LESCO in Martins Ferry. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing and especially spending time with the grandchildren. John was a member of Harbor of Hope Assembly of God in St. Clairsville and the Maynard PNA #455.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Louise Klouskey Jaskowiak; and three sisters, Joan E. Jaskowiak Spano, Anna Shaffer and Jean Higgenbotham DeFrank.
John is survived by his three children, John (Traci) Jaskowiak, Debra (Craig) Wheeler and Ann Arnold; two granddaughters, Darcy Jaskowiak and Jenna (Jacob Visnic) Jaskowiak; a great granddaughter, Leah Kyer; nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m., with Pastor Nikki Smithberger officiating. The burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio, where the Belmont County Veterans Association will conduct Full Military Honors.
