John Rufus Cramer, 102 formerly of Woodrow Ave., St.Clairsville and Beallsville died Saturday, January 31, 2004 at the Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born March 24, 1901 in Proctor, WV., a son of the late Roy Cramer and Florence Huggins Cramer.
He was a retired carpenter from the carpenter?s local No. 3, a former insurance agent for Motorist Mutual, and a former employee of Hanna Coal Co., a member of Thoburn Methodist Church in St.Clairsville, a former St.Clairsville Volunteer Fireman, and a member of Belmont Lodge No. 16 F&AM at St.Clairsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Jefferson Cramer; a son, Paul J. Cramer; great grandson, Adam Eichhorn; three brothers, Glenn, Ralph, and Ward Cramer; three sisters, Roxie Ganoe, Marjorie Mills, and Martha Fontaine.
Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Beverly Cramer Pittman of Jerusalem; a grandson, John P. (Ruth) Cramer of Jerusalem; three granddaughters, Barbara (Dave) Eichhorn of Beallsville, Susan (Mike)Stewart of Jerusalem, Janet (Kelly Swallie) Cole of Alledonia; 9 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St.Clairsville on Monday from 2 to 9 p.m. where services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Kim Anderson officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens at Pleasant Grove.
Masonic services will be conducted by Belmont Lodge No. 16 at 7:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
