John Mack "Jack" County, Jr., 71 of St. Clairsville died Monday, May 17, 2004 at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born November 15, 1932 in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late John M. County, Sr. and Eva Marie MacFarland County.
He was a retired employee of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel?s Steubenville South 80 Inch Plant, and former superintendent of St. Clairsville-Richland School?s bus garage.
John was a member of East Richland Evangelical Friends Church, current Master and immediate Past Master of Belmont Lodge No. 16 F & AM in St. Clairsville; a member of Steubenville Lodge N0. 45 F&AM; Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville; Osiris Temple of the Shrine in Wheeling; Aladdin Temple of the Shrine in Steubenville; Bel-Mon Shrine Club; Royal Arch Masons Bellaire Chapter No. 107; Royal and Select Masons Bellaire Council No. 87; Hope Commandery No. 26 in Bridgeport; Honorary member of the Brilliant Volunteer Fire Dept.; past president of the St. Clairsville Council of Churches; New Covenant Academy school board member; member of the Experimental Aircraft Association; a member of the American Hungarian Cultural Club; MAPS; and the National Geographic Society.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his 1st wife Bonnie Jean Hague County; two sisters, Judy and Pat.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Kopas County; four sons, William "David" County and his wife Claudelle of Lees Summit, MO., John "Timothy" County and his wife Marian of Brilliant, Robert Paul County of Triadelphia, WV and Joseph Shawn County of Philadelphia, PA.; a sister, Marjorie Flory and her husband Harold of Union, Ohio; four grandsons, William, Chad, Devon and Travis County; niece, Micahlene Ray Zaleski Turner and her husband David of Colerain.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the East Richland Evangelical Friends Church with Rev. Wayne Ickes officiating. Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
