John Ciesielka Jr., 91, of Flushing, Ohio, died January 20, 2024.
He was born August 23, 1932, in Flushing, Ohio, a son of the late John Ciesielka and Mary Slovik Ciesielka.
John was a graduate of Flushing High School and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was an active member and past commander of the Flushing American Legion Post 366, a member and past commander of the Belmont County Council of American Legions and a dedicated member of the Belmont County Veterans Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew J. and William J. Ciesielka; three sisters, Jeannie Campanizzi, Sally Henry and Ann Henry; and his companion, Shirley Devaul.
John is survived by nieces and nephews, Carol Hart, Pete Campanizzi, Jeanne Campanizzi, Kay Kress, and Carol Wall; many great nieces and great nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation and celebration of life to be held at the Flushing Fire Department Social Hall on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 11 am. until time of service at Noon with the Belmont County Veterans Association conducting full military honors and John's great nephew conducting the memorial service and committal service in Rock Hill Cemetery, Flushing. Arrangements are entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Flushing Fire Department or the Flushing American Legion Post 366 or the Flushing Senior Center.
