John L. Bolner, 69, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Trinity Hospital West Steubenville, Ohio.  John was born May 3, 1951 in Steubenville, a son of the late Livio Francis and Erma Frances Dolzani Bolner.

John retired from Weirton Steel for 25 years, a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War.  John proudly served on the Honor Guard of American Legion Post #1 in Wheeling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Ellis.

Surviving are his wife, Marcia Mercer Bolner of St. Clairsville; a son, Robert "Bob" (Carla) Bolner of Weirton, WV; siblings, Joann Rawson of Ripley, WV., Chuck (Sandra) Bolner of Steubenville and Lee (Tracy) Hendershot of Richmond, OH; grandchildren, Travis (Lindley) Bolner and Jesse Bolner; a brother-in-law, Jeff (Debbie) Mercer of St. Clairsville; several nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing and masks are required.

Friends received Tuesday from 1 pm until time of private service at 3 pm at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville with Larry Bloomfield, Post 1 Chaplain officiating.  Burial in Olive Branch Cemetery, Harrisville, OH at the convenience of the family.
