Joseph "Joe" Kuchinka, 95, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Park Health Center.
He was born November 7, 1925, in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late Matthew and Mary Locke Kuchinka.
Joe was a graduate of St. John Central High School in Bellaire and served in the U.S. Army as a Medic during World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a retired employee of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. Hosie was an avid bowler at St. Clair Lanes and enjoyed gardening and tending his lawn. He had a gift for giving good nicknames.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lois Sampson Kuchinka; a sister, Mary Kovach and a brother, Matt Kuchinka.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Janice (Billy Dojcak) Kuchinka; a granddaughter, Marin Dojchinka; two sisters, Betty Ryan and Rose Kopyar; two brothers, Don and John Kuchinka; nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Monday, September 6, 2021 from 11 a.m. until time of Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 1 p.m., with Father Thomas Chillog as the Celebrant. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio. Arrangements are entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.
