Joe Walton Bailey, age 95, of Senecaville, Ohio died Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Bluefield, West Virginia on August 31, 1909, son of the late Frank Herbert and Pearl Walton Bailey.

Joe was a retired coal miner and foreman from Fairpoint Coal Company. He played football at Bluefield High School and Bluefield College. Joe enjoyed fox hunting, caring for his foxhounds, gardening, trading with and talking to his friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel O?Quinn Bailey; a sister, Mildred Kidd; and three brothers, Frank, George and Bernard Bailey.

Surviving are his four children, Joe (Marilyn) Bailey Jr. of Granbury, Texas, Nick (Wendy) Bailey of Greenwich, Connecticut, Patricia Bevis of Granbury, Texas, Kristi (Mike) McNell of Senecaville, Ohio; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

There will be services held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio, with Rev. Kim Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
